What are the performance requirements for packaging materials?
(1) Protection performance
Packaging materials should have a certain mechanical strength, adapt to temperature changes, be moisture-proof, waterproof, corrosion-resistant, UV resistant, heat-resistant, cold resistant, light resistant, and oil resistant. They should also be odorless, non-toxic, and odorless, and can protect the quality of the interior.
(2) Operational performance
Packaging materials should have a certain degree of rigidity, heat sealing, and anti-static properties, as well as a certain degree of smoothness, plasticity, weldability, easy opening, processing, filling, and easy separation. They are suitable for automatic packaging machinery operations and have high production efficiency.
(3) Value added performance
Packaging increases the added value of the product, and good packaging greatly enhances the value and usability of the product. Especially as a sales packaging material, it is required to have good transparency, surface gloss, beautiful appearance and color, and display effect, in order to increase the value of the product and consumer purchasing desire.
(4) Convenient to use performance
Regardless of the material used to package the product, the basic requirements are easy opening and extraction of the contents, easy re sealing, good opening performance, and less prone to breakage and damage.
(5) Reduce cost performance
Backward packaging not only increases costs but also fails to achieve expected results, so it is not advisable. When selecting packaging materials and methods in practical applications, in addition to considering the above requirements, it is also necessary to consider saving packaging material costs, packaging machinery and equipment costs, labor costs, etc. The most suitable materials should be used, and the most reasonable packaging methods should be adopted to achieve the best results.
(6) Adapt to the nature of the product
The packaging of goods must be suitable for the nature of the goods. For example, silk pitou, some are directly met with customers in the store, while others are processed and organized or made into clothes in the factory. The packaging should be different. The former should be done more carefully to highlight the quality characteristics of the silk, while the latter requires the goods to be flat, wrinkle free, and easy to open for processing by the factory. For example, polyurethane on-site foam lining technology is a relatively new technological achievement, which can increase the value of goods and protect their safety. However, using this type of packaging requires individual molding, which is costly and time-consuming. Therefore, it is currently only used for packaging precious carvings and antique porcelain and other valuable handicrafts. For general handicrafts such as wood carving and ornaments, polyethylene plastic and bubble film packaging are sufficient.
